Look who's starting Kindergarten!! Fall 2016

I still remember the day you were born and now you are five and starting kindergarten.  Your first day of Kindergarten was September 8th.  We had the chance to visit your classroom and your teacher before school started.  Since you’ve been at Excelsior all summer, it was an easy transition.

You’re really enjoying Kindergarten with Wu laoshi and your new friends.  At night, we have a “book a baggy” book to read.  Since you are in Chinese Immersion, we take time at night to read in English.  Your very first book was The Sad Cat.  What came as a big surprise to mama and baba was that you were able to read the entire book yourself!  I couldn’t believe it.

Right around the end of September, there was state testing and this was a first for you.  We got your scores back – 96th percentile for verbal and 90th percentile for math.  Wow, that’s pretty amazing.  Mama and baba are super proud of you!!

Fall is a favorite time of year in our family.  We get to go apple and pumpkin picking, hayrides and Halloween is right around the corner.

On October 21, you lost your 3rd tooth.  I know – third one!! (top front).  We put your tooth in your pillow for the tooth fairy.  She was very excited to visit you and thought you did a great job with your loose tooth.

At the end of October, we took a vacation to Disneyland California.  Meibo also visited.  You had a super, awesome fun time and loved Star Tours, Jedi Training Academy, Buzz Shooter, and McQueen.  We stayed at the Californian and found out the pool slide was your favorite!  The Halloween party was fun too J

This year, you were Death Trooper for Halloween.  Mama and baba saw you at the Excelsior Halloween parade and then baba went trick or treating with you, Bradley and the neighborhood crew (Ethan, Walter, Margaret, Tad, Brady).

Now that didi is getting older, you guys have a better time playing with each other.  It’s really nice to see the interaction and playfulness.  I love you so much Beni Berger!  Can’t wait for the holidays to come J
