Halloween was so much fun. You were super excited all day and then met up with Brady and Tad to go trick or treating. This year, you decided on Storm Trooper. Baba was Boba Fet. Bradley and I stayed back to hand out candy and treats to the trick or treaters! This year, we participated in FARE which means that we have non-food treats for allergy kids. It’s really important that we support allergies, sensitivities and make Halloween a great experience for everyone.
We also had a little scare after Halloween. On 11/2/15, you were playing on the monkey bars at school, fell and hit the back of your head on a monkey bar step. When I went to pick you up, you were dizzy, nausea, and starting to fall asleep. We called Dr Inman and then I drove you to Children’s. After an assessment, it was determined that you had a concussion, needed to take it easy for a few days. You also had a good golf ball size bump on your head. We monitored you overnight and took it easy for a few days. I knew you were ok when you asked for a toy from Target after our visit at Children’s.
You still have a great love of pajamas – wearing them every day!
For Thanksgiving, we usually stay home to celebrate. Our typical Thanksgiving meal includes sweet potato casserole, Brussel sprouts and butternut squash, pumpkin pie, and pumpkin surprise. However, you were really excited about cooking a turkey! (Must be school?) Baba had to buy a turkey last minute and it turned out great. I was super proud of you b/c you tried and liked turkey!!
Right after Thanksgiving, we got into the swing of Christmas. Christmas decorations went up, we got a tree right away, the countdown on your stocking started. We took advantage of a lot of activities around the Twin Cities. You got to ride a trolley, see reindeer and make ornamets!
A few weeks before Christmas, we also had a Beni and Mama day. We had a ton of fun, having lunch, going to MOA for the rides and just hanging out! I also attended a super cute Chinese Immersion graduation and gingerbread house building at school.
We flew out to Yipao and Uncle Johnny’s on Christmas eve. It was great to see everyone during Christmas break. Along with lots and lots of presents (all things Star Wars – costumes, walkie talkies, art supplies, etc) you had a great time overall. Once we got back from Connecticut you also had a bunch of presents from Santa, Mama and Baba.
