40 weeks: August 2015

It’s the middle of August as I write this. I know I say the same things over and over in every single post. I can’t believe how fast time goes by, I can’t believe how old you are getting and how much I love you. I really, really, really do! For some reason, this post is extra, extra hard for me. It’s hit mama that you are a big boy now. You no longer have toddler cheeks. You no longer have your fat little toddler feet. And by next Thursday, you will be graduating FCDC. Now I will say you are graduating early b/c you’ll be starting the new preschool at Minnetonka in the Fall, so technically, you will graduate again next Fall. Every day for the last few months, when I think about how big you are getting, I tear up. It is both tears of sadness and joy. I know you can’t be young forever but some days I want to bottle that innocence and shelter you from all those things that you want to do – grow up! Silly mama.

After graduation, we will spend a long weekend with Yipao and Uncle Johnny in Connecticut. It will be so much fun. Then, we’ll make our annual trip to the State Fair and summer will be officially over. We really wanted a fairly low key summer and we certainly did get one. But you still had lots of fun. On the weekends, we got out the pool and had lots of water fun. We also had plenty of walks to the playground.

Yipao and NaiNai came for two weeks to visit. You had so much fun. You guys went on walks, Target, to the mall and came to visit mama at work. Then, Meibo came to see you too. There were lots of Beni and Meibo days. Meibo went shopping with you – did lots of art projects, went to see a movie, found Storm Trooper at Disney and baked rainbow cupcakes and brownies. It was super fun! You also had a few fun birthday parties – Skylar (your favorite) and Owen’s. In July, you had a Mama and Beni day. We slept in, watched cartoons, went to Target and got a big balloon and animal (Toothless), had lunch at baba’s work (the Taj Mahal) and then went to the swim pond. Then we went back home, rested, watched more cartoons, went to Costco and got three costumes. It was the best day ever!

As always, here are just a few things that keeps mama laughing everyday:

5/28/15 – I’m a wall walker (as you climb furniture to avoid didi)

The force doesn’t work on my after 9:30pm

6/1 - Mama, can I get money when I do a good job?

6/7 - It takes a lot of practice to beat baba. I’m sorry for the bad behavior guys.

6/16- Hey Bill, let’s not argue about this. Bill. I am whining because you didn’t make good choices for me but I am still your friend

6/18- Baba almost burned me

6/21- If you’re mad, then tell me what’s the problem and we can fix it

6/27- When I don’t want to do stuff that I should do I just make a different plan. I don’t want to stay here and argue about this Bill.

6/28- I bet the tooth fairy will really like my tooth. I’m too busy doing stuff to listen.

7/10- I have too many toys so you can stop buying toys for me. They you won’t need to work.

7/20- I didn’t listen hhahahahahahaha

7/31- Mama and Beni day!

8/1- Last but not least! Just don’t argue with me about it

Moved gator up to 5mph

8/2- Did you wash your butt? I don’t wash my butt b/c they don’t put sunscreen there b/c I wear underwear!

Summer is slowly coming to an end but as you can see, we still have a couple of fun things planned! When I drop you off at daycare, I always give you a big hug and kiss and tell you how much I love you. You still tell me you love me and give me hugs too! Every night, I give you a big hug and kiss as I tuck you in good night. I always tell you that you make me the happiest mama in the whole widest world and universe and you say, “awwwhhh, thank you!” I love you to the moon and back Beni Berger!!!
