I cannot believe it – I cannot believe you are turning THREE! Every day, you amaze me, make me smile, laugh and love you even more.

2014 started off with a blast! In celebrating your birthday week, we had a number of events. First, Yipao came to celebrate with you for two weeks! We had two cakes – a Thomas train and a race car ice cream cake. You would insist on putting candles on the cake every day when we have birthday cake. Then, we had a neighborhood birthday party. Six of your friends showed up – Tad, Brady, Zoe, Ethan, Emma and Lukey Braid. It was so much fun seeing all of you play. Afterwards, we had lunch and Team Umizoomi cupcakes.

Since Christmas, it seems like you were getting presents every day. Now, you’ve gotten into the habit of asking for presents or surprises on a daily basis (uh oh).
| Elmo! |
We also went to your first show – Sesame Street Live. You had a great time singing with Elmo, clapping and eating cotton candy. I’m amazed that you were able to sit through the entire show.

Another big milestone – you moved up to the Honeybee’s at FCDC! The transition was pretty easy for you – it seems like you really like your new room and connecting with your old friends; Lukey Braid, Jezebel, Rachel, Bobby and a few others.
We also had two doctor’s visit. Dr Inman said you are right on target. 50% for height and 55% for weight. WOW! He also explained that only 20% of kids at age 3 are not potty trained. We then had your first visit to the dentist. We read how Elmo went to the dentist and you were very excited for your first visit. All went very smoothly. Dr. Amanda explained that you should slowly ween off your binky.

Overnight, you went off your binky and was potty trained! Yipao helped with potty training and you were all set after 3 days. Yipao said, “20%? We are not going to be part of this 20%, no way!” Too funny. I would also like to point out that you like to watch the iPad and have snacks while you work on your potty in the potty pot. In addition, you like to go #2 late at night, right after Baba turns off the lights and gets everything ready for bed. I think it’s kind of funny… I don’t think Baba likes it as much. Binky just went away overnight. It was like you knew that you are a big boy now and this is what big boys do! We are so proud of you Beni :)
Lately, you’ve really advance in swim class too – you’re able to float by yourself for over 10 seconds, great monkey cheeks and have started to coordinate both scoop and kick.

• 1/4/14 – you were chasing the flashlight “zero”
• You also decided to try use your learning against us. One night you threw all the blankets and pillows on the floor. When I said that I wouldn’t go down to play, you said, “Try it, you might like it!” That is what Kai Lan says and what we use when you don’t like to try a new food
• 1/10 – Mama, you’re so soft like a pillow
