Oh how time flies... Happy 10 month Birthday! And Happy Thanksgiving too! This has been a very busy month, full of development, growth, laughs and cries.
Halloween was a ton of fun for you. First, you went trick or treating at daycare. You were dressed up as a tiger and your friend Will was dressed as a lion. Both tiger and lion sat in the buggy and had lots of fun! Then, you changed into your burger outfit when you got home. We watched all the trick or treaters from the big living room window. You were patting the window every time you saw a visitor. It was very cute.
The very next day, 11.1.11, you ran a fever at school and we went to pick you up. At first, I thought it was just too much fun last night but then we found out it was hand, foot mouth. There was an outbreak at daycare and you were out for a whole week. Poor kiddo - I never seen you so miserable. You had sores over your hands, feet and inside your mouth. You couldn't eat your favorite puffs for DAYS. After the week ended, we decided to keep you home to hang out with baba on Mondays.
On 11.11.11, you started to get very chatty. It's so cute to see you communicating with us. There's lots of mamamamammamamama and bababababababababababa's going on. In addition, you have decided that puffs are too baby-ish for you... you have advanced to Cheerios. You LOVE your cheerios.
11.17.11 Was a big week - you started to pull yourself up with the furniture. I'm sure you'll be walking by the time we visit CT for Christmas. We also decided to crib train (Ferberize) you. Both mommy and daddy hate to do it but sleeping by yourself in your own crib means a better sleep for you, ability to self-soothe and better immunity to daycare germs. Day one was tough - you cried for 45 minutes and at times, you cried so hard you threw up. Day two, it took about 22 minutes before you went to bed. On day three, you fell asleep within 5 minutes. You still get up from time to time, 1am, 4am, but you are able to fall asleep within 10 minutes. Mama has not helped in your crib training because I like to bring you into bed at 4am. I miss my cuddles! Well, after a discussion with baba, I have agreed to a full night's crib training.
Thanksgiving was a ton of fun - you went to see Grandma and Grandpa Berger plus all of your cousins!! You love Monty (the puppy) and playing with all the big kids. The Thanksgiving meal was not that exciting to you but we'll try again next year!
Lots of development:
- Standing/ pulling up with furniture
- More chatting
- Graduated to Cheerios and more solids. You LOVE tator tot hot dish and vegetable beef soup
- Crib training
- No longer taking formula at night anymore
- Drinking 6+ ounces of formula in the day
- Big weight gain, almost 2 pounds!
