Fall has come and gone, I’m finally getting an update on the blog! Fall in Minnesota is great – the weather is cooler, leaves turn color, all sorts of fun outdoor activities. We went apple picking, lots of hay rides and had yummy apple pie. We went to Pine Tree Farms and Minnetonka Orchards.
You are also loving swim class and float like a champ! You’re not a big fan of putting your head under water but now you can do it well. Also, you were able to touch the pool floor the other day. Big deal!
Beni, you were so ready for Halloween. It started late August. First, you were the hulk, then Wolverine, then Iron Man. Let’s just say you had plenty of costumes to choose from. Halloween day, you decided on Iron Man and went out trick or treating with your buddies Tad (Baseball pro) and Brady (Power Ranger).
We also had plenty of birthday parties to attend. Emma turned four, Ethan and Tad turned three. You had a blast at all the parties. Lots of bouncy houses.
Every year, we attend the Minnetonka Open House. You met sparky the fire dog and went on the fire truck three times! You still LOVE fire trucks and getting to ride in a real one is a big deal!
I thought your PJ days would end now that the weather is cold but it hasn’t. You will find this funny when you read this – you love wearing PJ’s. REALLY love wearing PJ’s. You wear PJ’s all day, every day. You wear them to daycare, playing, birthday parties, everywhere. You’re also very particular on the PJ style – definitely need the ones with arm and leg cuffs. Most of your PJ’s are Disney characters – Cars, Buzz, Monsters, Planes. You also really like Frozen (the IT thing now).
In November, we went to Hawaii with Yipao, Anthony, Mai Wong and Lin Lin. You absolutely loved it and went to the beach every day. You love playing water games with baba and jumping the waves. It’s so nice to enjoy the warm weather and see your love for sand and beaches. We got to have breakfast with Mickey and friends, which was a lot of fun!!
Here are a few funny moments/ milestones:
- 9/21 Minnesota is like Yoda!
- 9/25 Baba, I opened your chocolate for you and I’ll eat it for you
- Started to say, “That’s weird”
- Can read all letters
- “Shhh, let’s tip toe so baba won’t hear us” (avoiding bedtime and sneaking into the kitchen)
- 10/19 We live on earth today. Tomorrow, maybe we will live on Jupiter
- Every day I want to share the robot!!! (you don’t have a robot)
- 10/28 Really noticed your expansive vocabulary and sentencing structure
- “Why do you buy me all this stuff mama?” Because I love you, do you want me to stop? No
- 10/31 (at daycare) What do you think will happen when you put candy corn in milk, water, soda and vinegar. Most kids respond, ‘it will explode’. You said, “I think it will sink or float”
- I like my finger nails sharp and dirty! (avoiding clip time)
- I don’t need a bra b/c I don’t have big boobs
- 11/13 I try to balance and only fell three times
- 11/17 Teach baba and mama how to ninja fight
- 11/20 Hawaii looks like tator tots (on the map)
- 11/23 Mama, you should go to my dr so you get a sticker and a lollipop
- 11/26 I eat kettle corn to stay up and not fall (?)
- 12/6 I don’t know what I would do without him
- 12/7 You are Elsa the Queen
- 12/8 Mama you are too loud. Ok, I’ll stop getting your snacks. Ok, be loud
I love you so much Benjamin. You put a smile on my face and make me laugh every day. I am so happy to be your mama. Can’t wait for Christmas!!
