YiPau Arrives

On Tuesday, my Auntie Yagoo (Kathy) arrived. We call her Yaugoo b/c it means youngest aunt. Benjamin will call her YiPau (Great Auntie).

It's only been two days but YiPau is pretty darn good at this babycare stuff. She made some vast improvements which I'm sure Benjamin is very happy about. First, she was able to up the feeding to four ounces and reduce spit up. In addition, since you're eating more, you are also sleeping longer, around 4 hours now. YiPau carries you all day long so you are very spoiled. In addition, swaddling is still needed at night for you to get some more deep sleep time.

YiPau almost had a heart attack when she saw us give you a bath - lol. We need to get some cloth diapers and put it over your chest and gently splash water on you as we put you in the infant tub. Usually, we undress you, Daddy holds you and slowly dips you in the water. Too traumatic says YiPau, will really scare you. She knows her stuff.

Also, when putting you to bed, we have to be very gentle and have a hand over your chest so you still feel a sense of security from holding time to bed time. It's very nice to have some experienced hands teaching us what to do - stuff they don't tell you in the books or online at mayoclinic.com. LOL

Breastfeeding is not going as planned. Looks like I'm not producing enough milk and the lack/formula/pump method is not working very well and throwing the feeding schedule off. Hopefully, we'll get that down in the next two weeks as well.

YiPau is very funny - her kids are already 16 and 21 (your auntie Katrina and uncle Anthony) so she has some very clear but also fuzzy memories. For example, she thought that you would poop solid logs or "fish filets" right away. That was super funny. For the next two weeks, you get to experience Four Seasons treatment and hopefully Mommy and Daddy will be able to keep it up!

You are so lucky that you are loved by so many!!
